Regional Government updates working conditions and remuneration for professional firefighters
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved the second amendment to the Working Conditions Ordinance for professional firefighters of Humanitarian Firefighter Associations, introducing new supplements and training rules.
The Regional Government of Madeira, through the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection and the Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, has published the second amendment to the Working Conditions Ordinance (PCT) applicable to professional firefighters of the Humanitarian Firefighter Associations (AHB) in the Region.
This measure aims to dignify and value the profession, promoting remuneration and training parity with professional firefighters of local authorities. The main changes include:
- Firefighter condition supplement: Update of the phasing of the supplement for Firefighter and Officer careers, with guaranteed minimum values of €300 from 2028.
- Initial Training: Addition of article 11-A, which establishes the right to an initial theoretical and practical training program, to be defined by the Civil Protection Emergency Training Center of the Regional Civil Protection Service, IP-RAM.
- Remuneration Table: Update of base salaries according to Annex I of the ordinance, reflecting the commitment to salary balance.
The ordinance enters into force the day after its publication, with retroactive effects to January 1, 2024, for pecuniary rights.
