The Regional Government of Madeira has authorized the distribution of budgetary charges for the subsidization of irrigation water prices in a program contract with ARM - Águas e Resíduos da Madeira, S.A.
Through Ordinance no. 277/2026, published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the Regional Government has formalized the distribution of budgetary charges related to the program contract signed with ARM - Águas e Resíduos da Madeira, S.A.. The central objective of this measure is to subsidize the sale price of irrigation water, ensuring the sustainability of the regional agricultural sector.
The total amount of support reaches 5,793,964.00 €, distributed over the following financial years:
The expenditure for the current year is duly allocated in the Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, under registration no. 20693 in the Central System of Multi-annual Commitments. The decree also provides that the amount set for each year may be increased by the balance determined in the previous year, entering into force on the day following its publication.
