RTP revises company agreement and clarifies pay components for 1,783 workers
RTP and trade unions agreed an addendum to the company agreement adding clause 37-A, with interpretative scope on the allowances that make up the working pay. The Autonomous Region of Madeira is preparing to extend this agreement.
A partial revision of the company agreement between Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, SA and FE - Federação dos Engenheiros and other trade union organisations, including an interpretative provision, has been published in the Official Journal. The agreement was signed on 18 August 2026 and deposited for publication, appearing in the Boletim do Trabalho e Emprego, No. 37, of 8 October 2026.
The addendum added clause 37-A, entitled "Allowances that form part of working pay". The clause lists the allowances that make up this pay, including the presentation allowance, allowances for additional duties (including duties at regional information centres and foreign correspondent posts), the special transport allowance II, structure and coordination allowances, and the so-called additional pay resulting from court decisions.
According to the text, the clause has interpretative scope and applies retroactively to the provisions concerning the components of working pay. The agreement covers a single employer, which employs 1,783 workers, and applies across national territory to the radio, television and audiovisual content production and distribution sectors.
At the same time, the Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labour and Youth published a notice of a draft ordinance extending this agreement to the Autonomous Region of Madeira. Interested parties may submit a reasoned written objection within 10 days of the notice's publication. The draft covers RTP workers not represented by the signatory trade unions, excluding clauses that conflict with mandatory legal provisions.
