The Regional Youth Directorate, of the Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, has formalised the open-ended hiring of Mónica Sofia Freitas Fernandes Pires as an operational assistant in the sewing area, at the Funchal Youth Centre. The contract takes effect on 1 November 2026 and was published in the Official Gazette of Madeira (JORAM) on 4 November 2026, through Notice No. 579/2026.
What was decided#
The notice announces the signing of an employment contract in public functions for an indefinite period, meaning without a set end date. The worker occupies a post in the Operational Assistant career and category, in the sewing area, and is assigned to the staff map of the Funchal Youth Centre. The document was signed by the regional director of Youth, Carlos André Camacho Alves, on 2 November 2026, and is based on a dispatch from the regional secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, dated 30 October 2026.
How the hiring was carried out#
The hiring results from a common recruitment procedure, meaning a selection process open to candidates who meet the requirements. The procedure was opened by Notice No. 433/2025, published in JORAM, II series, No. 225, on 12 December. The vacancy was allocated through the Consolidated Regional Recruitment Map for 2025, which brings together the regional administration's recruitment needs for that year.
Pay conditions and probationary period#
The monthly salary corresponds to the 1st salary position, level 5, of the Operational Assistant career and category, set out in the single salary table, under Decree-Law No. 84-F/2022, of 16 December, as currently amended. A regional supplement, the Vencimento Regional, is added to this amount. The notice does not state the amount in euros, so the exact value should be checked in the table referred to.
The worker is subject to a 90-day probationary period, provided for in paragraph a) of point 2 of Article 45, read together with paragraph a) of point 1 of Article 49 of the General Labour Law in Public Functions (LTFP), approved by Law No. 35/2014, of 20 June. During this period, either party may terminate the contract without needing to give a reason, in accordance with the law.
Legal framework#
This type of act is a notice, a form of mandatory publication of personnel acts in the public administration. The document is exempt from prior review by the Madeira Regional Section of the Court of Audit, which means the contract does not need to be submitted to that body beforehand in order to take effect.
