Collective agreement for vehicle inspection centers updates salaries and meal allowance

The revised collective labor agreement between the National Association of Vehicle Inspection Centers (ANCIA) and the trade unions Construction, Public Works and Services Union - SETACCOP and Services Sector Workers' Union - SITESE has been published in the Official Gazette. The agreement, signed in Lisbon on May 11, 2026, applies nationwide and covers the activity of motor vehicle inspection (CAE 71200), involving 49 companies and 1286 workers.

The main provisions of the revision are:

• Validity: The contract enters into force on the first day of the month following its publication in the Labor and Employment Bulletin and is valid for 12 months, after which the regime of extended validity applies. The salary values take effect from January 1 of each year.
• Meal allowance: It has been set at 9.50 € per working day with a minimum of five hours of service. This amount is not included in the concept of remuneration for the calculation of other allowances.
• Minimum monthly salaries: The attached salary table has been updated, establishing the following minimum monthly remuneration values:
  • Senior management: 1,620.00 €
  • Responsible manager: 1,225.00 €
  • Quality manager / Technical manager: 1,184.00 €
  • Vehicle inspector: 1,044.00 € (Trainee inspector: 945.00 €)
  • Supplements for accumulated functions: Technical/quality manager (+125.00 €), Responsible manager (+180.00 €)
  • Administrative staff, Receptionist, Unskilled worker: 945.00 €
• Continuous training: The employer must ensure certified training, covering at least 10% of the workers with an open-ended contract in each company annually. Training hours not provided due to the employer's responsibility become credits that can be accumulated for up to three years.
• Justified absences: The contract specifies the deadlines for absences due to the death of family members, which go up to 20 consecutive days for the death of a spouse, child or stepchild.

This collective agreement serves as the basis for the extension project currently under public consultation for application in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
