The Regional Government of Madeira, through the Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, has made public its intention to issue an Extension Ordinance for the Collective Bargaining Agreement (ACT) signed between Insular Produtos Alimentares, S.A. (Madeira Free Trade Zone) and the Federation of Agriculture, Food, Beverage, Hotel and Tourism Unions of Portugal (FESAHT).
This measure aims to standardize working conditions in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, extending the rules of the aforementioned agreement to employees of the company who are not represented by the signatory trade union association. The explanatory note highlights the existence of social and economic circumstances that make this extension necessary to ensure pay equity in the sector.
The ACT, filed on April 4, 2026 (No. 12/2026), establishes the following main conditions:
Interested parties have a period of 10 days, starting from the publication in JORAM (April 13, 2026), to file a reasoned opposition to the draft extension ordinance.
The company TEMPI has been authorized to carry out night work in the tunnels of the regional road network until the end of 2026.
The Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labour and Youth has published the draft ordinance extending the company agreement for ARM - Águas e Resíduos da Madeira, S.A.
The fourth revision of the ARM company agreement introduces salary updates with retroactive effect to January 2026 and adjusts benefits such as the meal allowance.
