Regional Government changes payment schedule for Madeira Central Hospital supervision
A joint ordinance from Finance and Equipment departments redistributes budget charges, worth 8.18 million euros, for the supervision and coordination services of the new hospital project.
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved a change to the payment schedule for the supervision and coordination contract of the Madeira Central Hospital construction. The measure is contained in Ordinance No. 353/2026, signed by the regional secretaries of Finance and Equipment and Infrastructure.
The document amends and redistributes the budget charges that had been foreseen in Ordinance No. 226/2026, of June 6, keeping the total contract value unchanged at 8,182,962.41 euros (plus VAT at the legal rate). The contract in question is "MADEIRA CENTRAL HOSPITAL - CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION AND COORDINATION SERVICES", with process number 6/2020.
The new ordinance establishes a detailed payment calendar extending until the 2040 fiscal year. The most significant amounts are concentrated between 2027 and 2030, with annual values exceeding one million euros. From 2031 onwards, the annual values are substantially lower.

The ordinance also establishes that the amount set for each year can be increased by the balance determined in the previous year. For the 2026 fiscal year, the expenditure is covered by a specific line item in the Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM). The funds required for the years 2027 to 2040 will be included in the respective annual budget proposals.
The ordinance comes into force on the working day following its publication in the Official Journal.
