The Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (JORAM) of July 21, 2026, published several decisions related to human resources management in the regional public administration, covering hirings, renewals, and an appointment to a government office.
Authorized through Notice No. 329/2026, the signing of an indefinite-term employment contract with Tiago Samuel Sousa Ferreira. The contract is for the exercise of public functions in the category and career of Operational Assistant, in the Presidency of the Regional Government of Madeira. The remuneration corresponds to the 1st pay position, level 5 of the Single Remuneration Table, starting on August 1, 2026.
The Order No. 302/2026 from the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology renews for another school year the service commission of worker Nina Cesária Gonçalves Figueira Afonso de Freitas (Technical Coordinator) as coordinator of the school administrative services at Gonçalves Zarco Basic and Secondary School. The renewal takes effect from September 1, 2026. In her absences or impediments, she will be replaced by worker Mafalda Maria Freitas Moniz Teixeira (Technical Assistant).
The Regional Secretary for the Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues, appointed, through Order No. 303/2026, the law graduate Olavo Rúben Pereira (current Senior Technician at the Santa Cruz Municipal Council) to the position of Specialist Technician of the Office of the Regional Secretary for the Economy. The appointment takes effect on August 1, 2026. The specialist technician will be entitled to a base remuneration corresponding to 65.45% of the standard value for senior management positions of the 1st degree, plus a 20% remuneration supplement for the permanent availability regime.
The Legislative Assembly of Madeira approved its report and management accounts for the 2024 financial year. The resolution was adopted at a plenary session on 14 October 2026.
The Regional Government has authorized the allocation, between 2026 and 2031, of costs for a lease intended to house public services in Marina Forum, Funchal. The total amount is €210,000, exempt from VAT.
The Regional Roads Directorate will now have heads for its Technical Coordination and Specialties, Conservation and Maintenance, and Payroll Processing and Management divisions. The three appointments are for one-year service commissions and take effect on 12 October 2026.
