The Regional Government Council authorised programme contracts with the Madeira Ornithological Association, with funding of up to 15,000 euros, and with the ANIMAD Association, with support of up to 30,000 euros, for activities in 2026.
The Regional Government Council approved two programme contracts with associations of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, intended to support their activities during the year 2026.
In the case of ANIMAD, the Government considered that the application submitted in 2026 meets the requirements of Articles 2 and 8 of Ordinance No. 463/2019. The Government also highlights the role of these entities in collecting and housing stray animals, maintaining recognised colonies and raising awareness of responsible pet ownership.
The programme contracts take effect between the date of signature and 31 December 2026, with the exception of the Madeira Ornithological Association contract, which takes effect retroactively from 1 January 2026. The expenses are covered by the budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira for 2026.
The Nossa Senhora da Piedade Foundation may receive up to €4,000 to ensure vulnerable children and young people in Porto Santo can access therapeutic services and psychosocial support. The funding covers project expenses incurred between 1 May and 31 December 2026.
The Region has increased funding for the Santo António care home project, supported by the PRR, to €2,903,153.94. The investment will create 47 new places, with €2,276,051.94 allocated to the 2026 financial year.
Foster families will receive €324.36 per month for each person in their care, rising to double that amount in cases of severe dependency. The maintenance allowance increases to €320.43, with effect from 1 September 2026.
