Porto Santo receives €4,000 in support for therapeutic services for children and young people

The Nossa Senhora da Piedade Foundation may receive up to €4,000 to ensure vulnerable children and young people in Porto Santo can access therapeutic services and psychosocial support. The funding covers project expenses incurred between 1 May and 31 December 2026.

The Regional Government has authorised a programme contract with the Nossa Senhora da Piedade Foundation to fund the project “Programme for Access to Therapeutic and Psychosocial Intervention for Children and Young People in Vulnerable Situations”, to be carried out in 2026.

The financial contribution may amount to a maximum of €10,000 and will be paid in a single instalment after the programme contract is signed and by 31 December 2026. Although the contract takes effect from the date of signature until the end of the year, expenses incurred between 1 May and 31 December 2026 are eligible for funding.

The programme aims to make specialised therapeutic services and psychological support more accessible to children and young people in socioeconomically vulnerable situations who live in Porto Santo. According to the resolution, the initiative seeks to reduce inequalities in access to healthcare and promote development, inclusion at school and family well-being.

  • Beneficiary organisation: Nossa Senhora da Piedade Foundation.
  • Instrument: Regional Government Council Resolution No. 995/2026, authorising the programme contract.
  • Maximum amount: €10,000, paid in a single instalment.
  • Eligible expense period: 1 May to 31 December 2026.

The resolution stipulates that the costs are to be covered by the budget of the Regional Directorate for Citizenship and Social Affairs. The Director of the Regional Directorate for Citizenship and Social Affairs is authorised to process the application and sign the contract, which must be approved by the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth.
