Government reallocates 4.4 million euros for teleradiology services in SESARAM

The Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection has redistributed the budgetary charges for the SESARAM teleradiology contract, adjusting the payment schedule.

The Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection has published an ordinance that changes the distribution of payments for a medical teleradiology services contract intended for the Madeira Autonomous Region Health Service (SESARAM, EPERAM).

Ordinance No. 385/2026 redistributes and alters the budgetary charges that had been foreseen in Ordinance No. 277/2025. The contract, with a global base price of 4,688,835.00 euros (VAT exempt) and a duration of four years, now sees its payments staggered differently across the economic years.

The new payment plan is as follows:

  • Economic Year 2026: 829,263.75 €
  • Economic Year 2027: 1,220,000.00 €
  • Economic Year 2028: 1,220,000.00 €
  • Economic Year 2029: 390,736.25 €

The ordinance also establishes that the amount fixed for each year may be increased by the balance ascertained in the previous year. The expenditure is foreseen in the SESARAM budget for 2026, and the charges for the following years will be considered in their respective budgets.

This measure aims to guarantee the financial continuity of an essential remote imaging diagnostic service, which strengthens the response capacity of the regional public health service.
