Portaria No. 605/2026 sets the new maximum price for dental consultations under the Agreement with the Dentists' Association and updates SRS-Madeira reimbursements.
Portaria No. 605/2026 has been published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (JORAM). It sets the maximum price for dental consultations and updates the reimbursement rates in the Reimbursement Table of the Regional Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SRS-Madeira).
The measure stems from Regional Government Council Resolution No. 1001/2026 and Agreement No. 1/2025, dated 26 November, signed between the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection and the Portuguese Dentists' Association.
A dental consultation cannot be billed on the same day together with other codes from the SRS-Madeira Reimbursement Table. The portaria also defines the dental consultation as an activity of diagnosis, prognosis, monitoring, and prescribing and carrying out pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapeutic measures, within the framework of the individual's systemic health and the prevention of oral disease.
The portaria enters into force on the day after its publication and takes effect on the first day of the following month, that is, 1 December 2026, the date on which the new values apply.
The Regional Government Council has updated the maximum fee for dental consultations covered by the Agreement with the Dental Surgeons Association, for the first time since 1997.
A new agreement allows patients from the Regional Health Service to be referred to private providers for fine-needle aspiration biopsies of thyroid nodules and the related analyses. The examinations are paid for by IASAÚDE and must not incur any charges for patients.
SESARAM will keep the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça outpatient clinic in premises leased from CPE - Companhia de Parques de Estacionamento, S.A., from 2027 to 2030. The total rent for the three years will be 381,471.48 euros, exempt from VAT.
