The Regional Government has postponed the entry into force of the beneficiary copayment for home respiratory care until October 1, 2026.
Ordinance no. 293/2026, published jointly by the Regional Secretariats of Health and Civil Protection and Finance, introduces the seventh amendment to the billing regime for the provision of technical health care in the area of Home Respiratory Care (CRD).
The decision is justified by the need to ensure interoperability between the public sector's computer systems and those of service providers, allowing for adequate technical adaptation. Thus, the copayment for which the beneficiary of the Regional Health Service (SRS-Madeira) is responsible will only take effect from October 1, 2026.
Until that date, the assumption of the expense corresponding to the copayment will be the responsibility of IASAÚDE, IP-RAM, ensuring that there is no prejudice to users during this transition period.
