The Regional Government Council approved a significant extension of the supervision and coordination services contract for the construction of the Madeira Central and University Hospital (HCUM). The measure aims to accommodate delays and unforeseen events in the construction of the new hospital.
Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 739/2026, an objective modification of the contract initially awarded in 2021 was authorized. The main changes are:
The contract is with the external consortium formed by the companies Consulgal, Consultores de Engenharia e Gestão, S.A., TPF - Consultores de Engenharia e Arquitetura, S.A., and NRV - Consultores de Engenharia, S.A.. The additional expenditure will be covered between 2027 and 2030, according to Ordinance No. 353/2026. The granting of the amendment agreement was delegated to the Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure.
