Expropriations of land necessary for slope stabilization works on sections of ER105 in Paul da Serra and ER222 in Santo Amaro have been authorized, aiming to increase road safety.
The Council of the Government approved two resolutions declaring the public utility of expropriating private land necessary for slope stabilization works on regional roads. The expropriation procedures will be initiated by the Regional Directorate of Heritage.
Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 763/2026, the expropriation of a plot of land for the "Stabilization of a Section of ER105 - Paul da Serra" project is authorized. The intervention aims to increase safety through the construction of a reinforced concrete wall in an unstable area.
Through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 764/2026, expropriations for the "Stabilization of a Section of ER 222 - Santo Amaro" project are authorized. The work consists of stabilizing a slope with shotcrete and soil nailing, following an instability event in 2022.
The costs of the expropriations will be covered by the regional budget.
The public utility status has been declared for the expropriation of land needed for the regularization and channeling of the Ribeiro da Raiz stream in Curral das Freiras, aiming to mitigate flood risks.
