The Regional Government of Madeira has determined that all teachers who met the requirements in 2025 will be able to progress to the 5th and 7th pay scales.
Through Joint Order No. 39/2026, the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology and the Regional Secretariat for Finance have established that the percentage of vacancies for progression to the 5th and 7th pay scales of the teaching career is set at 100% for teachers who met the legal requirements during the 2025 calendar year.
This measure, which takes effect on January 1, 2026, covers teachers evaluated with the qualitative rating of 'Good' who met the other requirements demanded by the Teaching Career Statute of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The decision aims to regularize career progression, ensuring that all eligible professionals can access higher pay scales, in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 185/2018, of June 5.
