The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries establishes rules for the F.2.6 Intervention of the CAP Strategic Plan, funding investments to improve forest resilience and environmental value.
The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries has published Ordinance No. 439/2026, which establishes the application regime for Intervention F.2.6 - "Investment in improving the resilience and environmental value of forests" of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 (PEPAC R.A. Madeira). The specific objective of this intervention is to contribute to halting and reversing biodiversity loss, improving ecosystem services, and preserving habitats and landscapes.
Holders and managers of forest and agroforestry lands (public, private, municipal, and community) and groups of forest producers (associations and cooperatives) can apply for this support, granted at 100% through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). Operations must cover a minimum contiguous area of 0.6 hectares and be integrated into an approved Forest Management Plan (PGF) or equivalent instrument.

Applications will be submitted electronically through the portals of agriculture and the PEPAC R.A. Madeira managing authority, according to specific notices to be published. Beneficiaries must start physical execution within 6 months and complete it within 24 months from the acceptance of the support.
The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries has established the funding application regime to protect forests against biotic and abiotic agents, such as fires and pests.
A 100% financial support for reforestation and recovery of forest areas affected by fires, pests, or natural disasters has been approved.
The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries sets the rules for applications for European funds for new forest plantations, with a support rate of 90%.
