Ordinance No. 537/2026 regulates the allocation of exceptional support of 29,640 euros to eleven firefighter associations and rescue entities in Madeira, to compensate for the increase in fuel prices between April and June 2026.
The Regional Government has published the regulations for financial support aimed at compensating humanitarian firefighter associations and other rescue entities for the increase in fuel prices. The support, totalling 29,640 euros, covers the period between 11 April and 30 June 2026.
Ordinance No. 537/2026 implements the measure approved by Resolution of the Regional Government Council No. 200/2026, of 6 April. The support is exceptional and temporary, justified by the consequences of the conflict in the Middle East on fuel prices.

The support corresponds to 0.30€ per litre of diesel or petrol, based on a reference consumption, and has the following maximum limits per vehicle:
To receive the support, entities must submit fuel supply receipts to the Regional Civil Protection Service (SRPC, IP-RAM), proving that the fuel was used in vehicles regularly assigned to the regional operational device or for fighting rural fires. The ordinance entered into force on 19 September 2026, but its effects are retroactive to 6 April.
