Occupational therapist Maria Micaela Sousa Baltazar has been appointed, on an interim basis, to head the Department of Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities at the ISSM, IP-RAM.
Through Notice No. 399/2026, the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Work and Youth appointed Maria Micaela Sousa Baltazar to the position of Director of the Department of Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities at the Madeira Social Security Institute, IP-RAM. The appointment, on an interim basis, takes effect on September 1, 2026.
Maria Micaela Baltazar holds a degree in Occupational Therapy and is a Senior Technician at the Regional Directorate of Education. The appointee has extensive professional experience in the field of inclusion, having coordinated the group of Occupational Therapists at the DRE and held coordination roles in Occupational Activity Centers. Between April and June 2024, she served as Director of the Coordination Unit for Occupational Activity Centers (UCCAO) at the same institute.
The position, which had been vacant since June 1, is legally equivalent to a first-level intermediate management position.
