Changes Approved to Agricultural Support under POSEI and CAP
Three ordinances introduce changes to support schemes for the marketing of local products, sugarcane honey production, and investments by young farmers.

The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries has published three ordinances that update support schemes for the agricultural sector, adapting them to changes approved at the European and national level.
Marketing Support (Ordinance No. 367/2026)#
This ordinance makes the third amendment to Ordinance No. 238/2017, which establishes support for the marketing of certain products originating from the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) on the local market (Measure 3, Action 3.2 of POSEI). The main changes include updating definitions (such as the inclusion of the Protected Designations of Origin "Madeira Sweet Potato DOP" and "Madeira Onion DOP"), clarification of eligible products, and a 20% increase in support for producers of "Madeira Annona DOP", "Madeira Sweet Potato DOP", and "Madeira Onion DOP".
Support for Sugarcane Honey Production (Ordinance No. 368/2026)#
This ordinance makes the first amendment to Ordinance No. 782/2020, which establishes support for the production of sugarcane honey (Measure 2, Action 2.1.3 of POSEI). The change updates the aid value, which is now set at 150 euros per 100 kilograms of sugarcane honey expressed as white sugar.
Support for Young Farmers (Ordinance No. 369/2026)#
This ordinance makes the first amendment to Ordinance No. 583/2025, which establishes the application regime for Intervention F.1.2 - "Investment associated with the installation of young farmers" of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027. The changes aim to clarify and better operationalise the regime, including the definition of a "young farmer" (who must possess adequate professional training), rules on the interruption of operation execution, and adjustments to eligible expenses and their limits (such as expenses for licensing, technical studies, and application monitoring).
Ordinances No. 367/2026 and 368/2026 take effect from January 1, 2026, while Ordinance No. 369/2026 enters into force the day after its publication.
