The Council of the Government approved four resolutions to publicly praise athletes, clubs, and regional associations for medals won at European and national championships.
The Council of the Regional Government of Madeira approved, in a plenary meeting on September 4, four resolutions that publicly praise athletes, clubs, and sports associations of the Region for their recent and notable sporting achievements.
These commendations aim to recognize the sporting merit and prestige that the conquests have brought to Madeira. The resolutions cover various sports, from canoeing to handball, basketball, and speed skating.

The resolutions were signed by the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Filipe Machado de Albuquerque.
The Nossa Senhora da Piedade Foundation may receive up to €4,000 to ensure vulnerable children and young people in Porto Santo can access therapeutic services and psychosocial support. The funding covers project expenses incurred between 1 May and 31 December 2026.
The Region has increased funding for the Santo António care home project, supported by the PRR, to €2,903,153.94. The investment will create 47 new places, with €2,276,051.94 allocated to the 2026 financial year.
Foster families will receive €324.36 per month for each person in their care, rising to double that amount in cases of severe dependency. The maintenance allowance increases to €320.43, with effect from 1 September 2026.
