Viver com Abrigo II project reinforced to expand Carmo Social Center
The Regional Government has increased funding for the Viver com Abrigo II project, allowing for the creation of 60 new places for homeless people in Câmara de Lobos.
Through Ordinance no. 254/2026, the Regional Government of Madeira has reinforced the funding for project 1880 - Viver com Abrigo II, contracted with the Centro Social e Paroquial do Carmo. The total investment has been updated to €2,344,748.40, reflecting an increase of €455,849.36 compared to the previous forecast.
This intervention, funded under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), aims to execute the "Expansion of the Centro Social e Paroquial do Carmo" project, which will allow for the creation of 60 new places for homeless people (PSSA) in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos.
Updated Financial Distribution:
- Year 2025: €322,791.60
- Year 2026: €2,021,956.80
The project includes the creation of a Social Support Space, canteen, changing rooms, counseling office, social store, laundry, shared apartments, occupational workshop, and a Specialized Technical Office.
