The Madeiran Executive awarded public praise to the Funchal Mountain Club for organizing the 17th edition of the Madeira Island Ultra Trail.
Through Resolution No. 281/2026, the Regional Government Council granted public praise to the Funchal Mountain Club. The recognition highlights the exemplary organization of the 17th edition of the MIUT - Madeira Island Ultra Trail 2026, which took place between April 22 and 26.
The Government emphasizes the positive impact of the event, which featured over 3,400 athletes from 72 nationalities, reinforcing Madeira's international projection as a destination of excellence for active tourism and nature sports. The praise recognizes the professionalism, technical rigor, and the club's contribution to sustainability and the local economy.
The Regional Youth Directorate will finance 14 projects from associations and informal youth groups under the PRINT program, with a total investment of 38,165 euros for 2026 and 2027.
The Council of the Government approved four resolutions to publicly praise athletes, clubs, and regional associations for medals won at European and national championships.
The transition of the funding for the Luís de Camões Association Social Centre to the standard model has been authorised, with a monthly contribution of 4,296.15 euros.
