A court ruling has determined that the collective agreement for the freight forwarding sector ceased to be in force in July 2016.
A notice has been published, under a final and binding ruling from the South Central Administrative Court, declaring the termination of the collective agreement between the Portuguese Freight Forwarders Association - APAT and the Union of Workers of the Merchant Navy, Travel Agencies, Freight Forwarders and Fishing (SIMAMEVIP).
According to the notice, the collective agreement, originally published in 2005 and with several subsequent amendments, ceased to be in force on July 25, 2016.
This judicial declaration serves to clarify the regime applicable to labor relations in the freight forwarding sector from that date onwards, as the collective bargaining instrument no longer produces effects.
