Ordinance No. 521/2026 authorizes the distribution of 10.02 million euros for the second phase of the new road link between Quebradas and Amparo.
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved the budget allocation for a road infrastructure project in the region. Ordinance No. 521/2026, signed by the Regional Secretary for Finance and the Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, authorizes the financial charges for the procedure "New Quebradas/Amparo Link. 2nd Phase. Phase 2.1. Contract".
The total value of the contract is €10,020,000.00 (ten million and twenty thousand euros), which will be distributed over the next two financial years as follows:
The ordinance also establishes that the amount set for each year can be increased by the balance carried forward from the previous year. The expenditure for 2026 has a specific budgetary allocation, while the funds for 2027 will be included in that year's budget. All amounts will be increased by VAT at the applicable legal rate.
The new link between Quebradas and Amparo represents a significant investment in Madeira's road network, aiming to improve accessibility and traffic flow. The ordinance came into force on the working day following its publication, on September 11, 2026.
