Ordinance No. 532/2026 redistributes the budgetary charges of the program-contract with the Municipality of Machico for the cemetery rehabilitation, for a total amount of 3.14 million euros.
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved an adjustment to the funding for the rehabilitation and reconstruction project of the Porto da Cruz Cemetery, in the municipality of Machico. The measure was formalized through Ordinance No. 532/2026, signed by the regional secretaries of Finance and of Equipment and Infrastructure.
The ordinance redistributes and alters the multi-annual nature of the budgetary charges foreseen in a technical and financial cooperation program-contract signed between the Autonomous Region of Madeira and the Municipality of Machico. The total funding amount remains at 3,141,706.98 euros.
The main change lies in the phasing of payments over the financial years. While initially no charges were foreseen for 2023 and 2024, the new distribution concentrates most of the expenditure in 2025 and 2026. Specifically:
The expenditure for the current 2026 financial year is covered by specific budget lines in the Autonomous Region of Madeira's Budget. The ordinance entered into force immediately after its publication.
This financial adjustment aims to ensure the continuity and completion of the rehabilitation works of a public infrastructure important for the Porto da Cruz community.
The Government Council authorized the expropriation of land in Porto Santo for the construction of a roundabout on Regional Road 120, aiming to increase road safety.
The Regional Government has authorized a specific change to the addendum of the construction contract for the tunnels of the new road link.
Ordinance No. 521/2026 authorizes the distribution of 10.02 million euros for the second phase of the new road link between Quebradas and Amparo.
