Regional Government moves forward with renovation of Fortaleza de Sao Joao Baptista do Pico
The Regional Government of Madeira has authorized the distribution of budget expenses for the renovation of the Fortaleza de Sao Joao Baptista do Pico, with a total investment exceeding 104,000 euros.
Through Ordinance no. 248/2026, published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (JORAM), the Regional Government has formalized the multi-year distribution of financial charges intended for the "Renovation Project of the Fortaleza de Sao Joao Baptista do Pico, Sao Pedro".
The total investment amounts to 104,833.34 €, plus VAT at the legal rate in force, with funding distributed over the next four fiscal years as follows:
- 2026: 73,383.34 €
- 2027: 15,725.00 €
- 2028: 5,241.67 €
- 2029: 10,483.33 €
The expenditure for the current year is duly registered in the Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, under Project 53284, and the charges for subsequent years will be integrated into the respective budget proposals. The ordinance, signed by the Regional Secretaries of Finance and Tourism, Environment and Culture, enters into force the day after its publication.
