The Madeira Government has authorized the expropriation of a plot of land necessary for the canalization of Ribeira da Palmeira.
The Regional Government Council approved, through Resolution no. 594/2026, the expropriation of land plot no. 34, included in the parcel plan for the project "Canalization of Ribeira da Palmeira Downstream of Rua da Palmeira".
The measure, which aims to enable the execution of this public utility work, involves the payment of a total amount of 2,960.00 EUR to the owners Jaime Moreira and Maria Albertina dos Santos Moniz. The Regional Secretary of Finance has been mandated to sign the respective amicable expropriation deed.
The public utility status has been declared for the expropriation of land needed for the regularization and channeling of the Ribeiro da Raiz stream in Curral das Freiras, aiming to mitigate flood risks.
The Regional Government authorized the purchase of seven land plots in Santo António for €4,380 to proceed with access and safety infrastructure in the high zone of the parish.
Ordinance No. 532/2026 redistributes the budgetary charges of the program-contract with the Municipality of Machico for the cemetery rehabilitation, for a total amount of 3.14 million euros.
