Regional Government redistributes road transport costs for Lot 2
The Regional Government of Madeira has redistributed the budgetary burdens for the public road transport service concession in Lot 2, covering the municipalities of Santana, Machico, Santa Cruz, and Porto Santo.
Through Ordinance no. 184/2026, published in a supplement to the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the Regional Government formalized the amendment and redistribution of budgetary burdens related to the Public Service Concession Contract for Intermunicipal and Municipal Road Passenger Transport in the Geographical Area of the Municipalities of Santana, Machico, Santa Cruz, and Porto Santo (RAM) - LOT 2.
The contract, which amounts to a maximum estimated global value of 60,864,049.07 € (plus VAT), has had its multi-annual payment plan readjusted. The new financial schedule defined by the regional executive is as follows:
- 2024: 2,114,505.48 €
- 2025: 6,544,149.46 €
- 2026: 6,698,962.18 €
- 2027: 7,282,576.91 €
- 2028: 7,400,126.23 €
- 2029: 7,520,026.54 €
- 2030: 7,642,324.85 €
- 2031: 7,767,069.13 €
- 2032: 7,894,308.29 €
The ordinance further establishes that the amount set for each financial year may be increased by the balance determined in the previous year. The funds for the year 2026 are secured by the budget of the Institute of Mobility and Transport, IP-RAM, with the remaining funds for the period from 2027 to 2032 planned to be included in the respective annual budgets.
