The Regional Government of Madeira, through the Regional Secretariats for Education, Science and Technology and for Finance, published a set of 20 ordinances authorizing the distribution of budgetary charges for the conclusion of initial cooperation agreements and simple contracts with private schools. These ordinances, published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira on September 8, 2026, allow public funding for the operation and social support in these institutions for the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years.
The investments are staggered between September and December 2026 and January to August 2027, with the expenses to be borne by the budget of the Management and Planning Unit Office of the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology. The measure aims to support the private and cooperative education network in the Region, ensuring the continuity of educational services.

Budgetary charges for cooperation agreements with 13 pre-school education establishments, including nurseries and kindergartens, have been authorized, ensuring operational and social support.
