Region approves cooperation agreements with 13 nurseries and kindergartens
Budgetary charges for cooperation agreements with 13 pre-school education establishments, including nurseries and kindergartens, have been authorized, ensuring operational and social support.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira has approved the financial distribution for the signing of initial cooperation agreements with 13 pre-school education establishments. These ordinances, published together, are intended to support the operation and, in many cases, the social support component of nurseries and kindergartens in the solidarity network, ensuring their sustainability until August 2027.
Cooperation agreements are instruments of public funding for private social solidarity institutions that provide services in the area of education. The funds now authorized come from the budget of the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology.
The beneficiary institutions and their respective legal instruments are:
- Nossa Senhora da Conceição Nursery, holder: Fundação de Nossa Senhora da Conceição do Funchal via Ordinance No. 448/2026. Total amount: €188,555.54 (Operation).
- Maria Eugénia de Canavial Children's Centre, holder: Maria Eugénia de Canavial Children's Centre via Ordinance No. 449/2026. Total amount: €629,538.21 (Operation) + €169,466.00 (Social Support).
- Dona Maria Eugénia de Canavial School, holder: Escola Dª Maria Eugénia de Canavial - Associação via Ordinance No. 450/2026. Total amount: €628,978.72 (Operation) + €24,147.10 (School Social Action).
- Quinta dos Traquinas Nursery, holder: Fundação de Socorros Mútuos - 4 de Setembro de 1862 via Ordinance No. 451/2026. Total amount: €388,588.90 (Operation) + €119,705.00 (Social Support).
- Patronato de São Pedro Association Nursery, holder: Associação do Patronato de São Pedro via Ordinance No. 452/2026. Total amount: €241,940.12 (Operation) + €102,723.00 (Social Support).
- Auxílio Maternal, holder: Associação “Auxílio Maternal do Funchal” via Ordinance No. 453/2026. Total amount: €998,099.02 (Operation) + €250,008.00 (Social Support).
- Santa Cecília Nursery, holder: Centro Social e Paroquial de Santa Cecília via Ordinance No. 454/2026. Total amount: €350,974.49 (Operation) + €157,470.00 (Social Support).
- Centro Social e Paroquial da Graça, holder: Centro Social e Paroquial da Graça via Ordinance No. 455/2026. Total amount: €474,208.61 (Operation).
- Rainha Sílvia Nursery, holder: Fundação Princesa Dona Maria Amélia via Ordinance No. 456/2026. Total amount: €710,825.88 (Operation) + €159,190.00 (Social Support).
- Fundação Dona Jacinta de Ornelas Pereira (establishment with the same name), holder: Fundação Dona Jacinta de Ornelas Pereira via Ordinance No. 457/2026. Total amount: €863,247.31 (Operation).
- Fundação Santa Luísa de Marillac (establishment with the same name), holder: Fundação Santa Luísa de Marillac via Ordinance No. 458/2026. Total amount: €311,944.53 (Operation).
- Semi-Internato de Santa Clara, holder: Obra Social das Franciscanas Missionárias de Maria via Ordinance No. 459/2026. Total amount: €1,047,582.19 (Operation).
- Apresentação de Maria Kindergarten, holder: Jardim de Infância de Apresentação de Maria (Calheta - Madeira) - Associação via Ordinance No. 460/2026. Total amount: €351,850.45 (Operation).
These measures, signed by Regional Secretary Elsa Fernandes and Regional Secretary for Finance Duarte Freitas, aim to guarantee the continuity and quality of pre-school education services provided by these institutions to the Madeiran community.
