Madeira authorizes funds for cooperation agreements with four education establishments

Ordinances have been published authorizing the distribution of budget charges for initial cooperation agreements with four education institutions, including nurseries and a school.

The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology and the Regional Secretariat for Finance of Madeira have published four ordinances authorizing the distribution of the total budget charges related to initial cooperation agreements and their respective amendments. These agreements involve four education establishments, including nurseries and a school, and cover the economic years 2025 and 2026.

As with association contracts, the funds are supported by the budget of the Management and Planning Unit Office of the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology and are intended for operational costs and, in some cases, social support. The ordinances, which amend the cost-sharing ordinances from September 2025, take effect immediately. The covered institutions are:

  • Escola Dona Maria Eugénia de Canavial (holder: Escola Dª Maria Eugénia de Canavial - Associação) via Ordinance No. 329/2026 (amending Cost-Sharing Ordinance No. 488/2025). Total charges: €653,125.82 (Operations: €628,978.72; School Social Action: €24,147.10).
  • Auxílio Maternal (holder: Associação “Auxílio Maternal do Funchal”) via Ordinance No. 330/2026 (amending Cost-Sharing Ordinance No. 443/2025). Total charges: €1,248,107.02 (Operations: €998,099.02; Social Support: €250,008.00).
  • Infantário Rainha Sílvia (holder: Fundação Princesa Dona Maria Amélia) via Ordinance No. 331/2026 (amending Cost-Sharing Ordinance No. 445/2025). Total charges: €761,328.41 (Operations: €602,138.41; Social Support: €159,190.00).
  • Fundação Dona Jacinta de Ornelas Pereira (education establishment with the same name) via Ordinance No. 332/2026 (amending Cost-Sharing Ordinance No. 490/2025). Total charges: €863,247.31 (for Operations only).

These cooperation agreements strengthen the partnership between the regional administration and private social solidarity institutions and other entities, ensuring the educational offer and social support for families in the Region.
