The exceptional measure allowing the hiring of Basic Education graduates for coordination roles in private establishments has been extended for the 2026/2027 school year.
Order No. 310/2026 extends the validity of an exceptional measure aimed at addressing recruitment difficulties in the private education sector. The measure, initially approved by Order No. 685/2025, of October 1, is now extended for the 2026/2027 school year.
This authorization allows private education establishments, including those supervised by private social solidarity institutions, to hire graduates in Basic Education (1st cycle of studies) to perform educational coordination functions in nursery and preschool classrooms.
The order emphasizes that the measure maintains its exceptional, transitional, and subsidiary nature. The hiring of these graduates should only occur when it is not possible to recruit preschool teachers with the appropriate professional qualification. Professional teaching qualification continues to be considered the appropriate training for the exercise of these functions.
The extension is justified by the persistence of difficulties in recruiting professionally qualified preschool teachers, which could compromise the normal functioning of the establishments.
