The new Ordinance no. 176/2026 establishes professional qualifications for teachers of curriculum enrichment activities in the 1st cycle of basic education in Madeira.
The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology has published Ordinance no. 176/2026, which defines the recruitment groups and the respective professional qualifications for curriculum enrichment activities (AEC) in the 1st cycle of basic education. The goal is to harmonize qualification requirements with other levels of education, ensuring greater coherence and adaptability.
This diploma revokes the previous Ordinances no. 56/2009, no. 58/2013 and no. 117/2015. The new rules apply to teaching staff competitions for the 2026/2027 school year and onwards, allowing teachers with professional qualifications for other cycles to teach these activities, ensuring the pedagogical quality recognized in the regional educational model.
The Council of the Government approved the termination, by mutual agreement, of the funding agreement between the Madeira Football Association and the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology.
Addendums to contracts with 28 private education establishments have been approved, representing a total increase of over 661,000 euros for the 2025/2026 school year.
The two important activities in the Madeira school calendar for the next academic year have already been scheduled, according to an order published in the Official Journal.
