Regional Government harmonizes recruitment groups for curriculum enrichment activities
The new Ordinance no. 176/2026 establishes professional qualifications for teachers of curriculum enrichment activities in the 1st cycle of basic education in Madeira.
The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology has published Ordinance no. 176/2026, which defines the recruitment groups and the respective professional qualifications for curriculum enrichment activities (AEC) in the 1st cycle of basic education. The goal is to harmonize qualification requirements with other levels of education, ensuring greater coherence and adaptability.
Recruitment groups covered:
- Group 120: English - 1st Cycle of Basic Education;
- Group 140: Visual Arts - 1st Cycle of Basic Education;
- Group 150: Musical and Dramatic Expression / Artistic Areas - 1st Cycle of Basic Education;
- Group 160: Physical Education and Motor Expression - 1st Cycle of Basic Education.
This diploma revokes the previous Ordinances no. 56/2009, no. 58/2013 and no. 117/2015. The new rules apply to teaching staff competitions for the 2026/2027 school year and onwards, allowing teachers with professional qualifications for other cycles to teach these activities, ensuring the pedagogical quality recognized in the regional educational model.
