The Regional Government has authorized a program contract with ARM to subsidize irrigation water prices in 2026.
With the goal of ensuring the continuity and sustainability of the agricultural sector, the Regional Government Council has authorized, via Resolution no. 634/2026, the signing of a program contract with ARM - Águas e Resíduos da Madeira, S.A.
The financial support, which amounts to a total value of 5,793,964.00 €, is intended to subsidize the sale price of irrigation water. The measure is justified by the need to mitigate the constraints of the agricultural sector in the Region, namely the orography and the small size of the plots, ensuring the universality of the service provided by the concessionaire.
The contract will be signed by the Regional Secretary of Finance and the Regional Secretary of Agriculture and Fisheries, with the expenditure being covered by the 2026 Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
From 00:00 on 28 September, the maximum price of unleaded 95 petrol will be €2.029 per litre. Road diesel will cost €2.148 and coloured and marked diesel €1.700 per litre.
The firm Oliveira, Branco & Associados, SROC, Lda. has been appointed as the sole auditor of the IDE, IP-RAM for the 2026-2029 triennium.
The Government Council approved tax benefit contracts for Anjos Otimistas and Secret Hemisphere Alojamentos, totaling 791,778.50 euros in Corporate Income Tax credits.
