Government regularizes Produto da Madeira brand authorizations
An order from the Regional Secretary of Agriculture and Fisheries validates brand usage authorizations following the end of the legal transition period.
Order no. 243/2026, signed by the Regional Secretary of Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Dinarte de Gouveia Maciel, establishes the regularization of authorizations for the use of the "Produto da Madeira" brand.
Given the automatic expiration of authorizations that were not renewed by December 2022, and considering that the services approved subsequent requests to safeguard economic continuity, the order determines:
- The reclassification of acts performed after the legal deadline as new brand usage authorizations.
- The validation of these acts, provided they were preceded by a formal request and compliance with material requirements.
- Permission to maintain previously assigned identification numbers, aiming for administrative efficiency and traceability.
- Recognition of the good faith of the users covered by the measure.
This decision aims to provide legal certainty to economic operators and standardize the internal procedures of the Regional Secretariat.
