Government awards quality prizes to producers at Porto Moniz Agricultural Fair
Three agricultural associations have been authorized to sign program-contracts for the payment of quality merit prizes to their members, totaling 1,650 euros.
The Regional Government has authorized the signing of program-contracts with three agricultural associations to proceed with the payment of quality merit prizes awarded to the producers they represented at the 69th Porto Moniz Agricultural Fair, held from July 17 to 19, 2026. The measure aims to stimulate creativity, innovation, and quality in regional agriculture.
The support was granted under the Regulation for awarding prizes to participants in the Porto Moniz Agricultural Fair, approved by Ordinance No. 359/2025, and is covered by the Region's Budget for 2026. The contracts are effective until December 31, 2026.
The beneficiary associations and their respective amounts are:
- Madeira Farmers Association via Regional Government Council Resolution No. 900/2026 – Amount of 400.00 € for payment of the prize to producer José Ilídio de Freitas Sá (1st place in organic production farmers' stands).
- West Coast Association via Regional Government Council Resolution No. 901/2026 – Amount of 300.00 € for payment of the prize to producer João Pedro Fernandes Fiqueli.
- Madeira and Porto Santo Young Farmers Association via Regional Government Council Resolution No. 902/2026 – Amount of 950.00 € for payment of the prizes to producers Leandro Andrade dos Santos (250€), Paulo António Valente Nóbrega (400€), and Ricardo Miguel Ferraz Rodrigues (300€).
