Regional Government awards grants to ten sports clubs in Madeira

The Regional Directorate of Sport (DRD) has signed ten sports development programme contracts (CPDD) with clubs in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, under the Regional Sports Support Plan for the 2025/2026 season. The agreements, approved by the Regional Secretary for Education, Science and Technology, Elsa Maria dos Santos Fernandes, aim to financially support participation in regional competitions, support for high-performance athletes, event organisation, and human resources training.

The contracts, valid until 31 December 2026, represent public investment in associativism and the promotion of sports practice in Madeira. The following is the complete list of beneficiaries and their respective maximum co-funding amounts:

• Clube Desportivo da Ribeira Brava via Contract no. 205/2026 (CPDD no. 62/2026): €33,131.32 for regional competition (badminton, football, futsal, artistic skating) and sports events.
• Clube Desportivo e Cultural de Porto Moniz via Contract no. 206/2026 (CPDD no. 63/2026): €11,482.82 for high-performance athletes (skyrunning), regional competition (athletics, basketball, billiards, futsal, speed skating, sport fishing, skyrunning) and activity support.
• Clube Desportivo e Recreativo Santanense via Contract no. 207/2026 (CPDD no. 64/2026): €58,405.78 for high-performance athletes (speed skating), regional competition (cycling, fencing, football, futsal, gymnastics for all, swimming, speed skating, petanque), sports events and human resources training.
• Clube Desportivo Escola do Porto da Cruz via Contract no. 208/2026 (CPDD no. 65/2026): €436.63 for regional competition (athletics, speed skating).
• Clube Desportivo Escola Santana - CDES via Contract no. 209/2026 (CPDD no. 66/2026): €10,043.84 for regional competition (athletics, motorsport, modern pentathlon, skyrunning, trail-running, triathlon).
• Clube Desportivo Infante D. Henrique - C.D.I. via Contract no. 210/2026 (CPDD no. 67/2026): €12,328.68 for regional competition (handball, athletics, judo, skyrunning) and support for a high-potential practitioner (skyrunning).
• Clube Desportivo "Os Especiais" via Contract no. 211/2026 (CPDD no. 68/2026): €19,509.29 for high-performance athletes (Down Syndrome athletics), regional competition (Down Syndrome athletics, basketball, deaf basketball, wheelchair basketball, basketball for intellectually disabled, basketball for trisomy 21, boccia, football for intellectually disabled, futsal for intellectually disabled, Down Syndrome futsal) and activity support.
• Clube Escola "O Liceu" via Contract no. 212/2026 (CPDD no. 69/2026): €24,521.41 for regional competition (athletics, football, swimming, tennis) and sports events.
• Clube Naval da Calheta via Contract no. 213/2026 (CPDD no. 70/2026): €29,687.87 for high-performance athletes (canoeing) and regional competition (billiards, canoeing).
• Clube Naval de São Vicente via Contract no. 214/2026 (CPDD no. 71/2026): €14,098.31 for high-performance athletes (skyrunning), regional competition (open water, athletics, bridge, cycling, orienteering, modern pentathlon, skyrunning, stand up paddle, trail-running, triathlon), activity support, sports events and human resources training.

The grants are included in the Regional Directorate of Sport's Budget and are processed in accordance with the Sports Support Regulation in the RAM.
