The President of the Board of Directors of the Madeira Social Security Institute has been appointed as the regional representative on the National Commission for Children and Youth Rights.
The President of the Board of Directors of the Madeira Social Security Institute, IP-RAM, Nivalda Nunes Silva Gonçalves, has been officially appointed to represent the Regional Government of Madeira on the National Council of the National Commission for Children and Youth Rights.
The appointment was formalized through Regional Government Council Resolution No. 908/2026, dated September 16, which revokes the previous Resolution No. 297/2025. This nomination follows the creation of the new National Commission by Decree-Law No. 101/2026, dated May 22, which replaced the former National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights and Protection of Children and Youth.
The measure aims to ensure the continuity of Madeira's institutional representation on this national body, whose mission is to promote and protect the rights of children and youth. Nivalda Gonçalves had previously held this representative role and will continue in the position under the new legal framework.
