The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology has appointed Sílvia Cristina Castro Fernandes de Abreu to lead the Madeira Professional Training Centre for a three-year period.
The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology has formalised the appointment of a new leader to a key position in the area of professional training in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
Through Order No. 369/2026, the graduate Sílvia Cristina Castro Fernandes de Abreu was appointed, on a secondment basis, to the position of Head of Division of the Madeira Professional Training Centre, of the Institute for Qualification, IP-RAM. The mandate will last for three years.
The appointment results from a public competitive procedure, announced in JORAM, and the candidate was selected unanimously by the jury. Sílvia Abreu, a native of Monte, Funchal, holds a degree in Ergonomics from the Faculty of Human Motricity of the Technical University of Lisbon and has extensive professional experience at the Madeira Professional Training Centre itself, where she worked as a Senior Technician since April 1997. She had already been performing the duties of Head of Division on an interim basis since 1 April 2026.
The Madeira Professional Training Centre is an organic unit provided for in the Statutes of the Institute for Qualification, IP-RAM, and plays a fundamental role in implementing the Region's qualification policies.
Inter-career mobility has been authorized for a worker at the Conservatory - School of Arts of Madeira, Eng.º Luiz Peter Clode.
