Regional Government awards financial support to ten Madeira sports clubs
The Regional Directorate of Sport has signed ten programme-contracts with regional clubs, under the 2025/2026 Regional Sports Support Plan.
The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology, through the Regional Directorate of Sport (DRD), has approved ten sports development programme-contracts (CPDD) with clubs in the region. These agreements, published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (JORAM), aim to financially support the activities of these associations during the 2025/2026 sports season (from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026).
The support falls under the Regional Sports Support Plan, approved by Ordinance No. 625/2025 of 18 November, and aims to foster regional competition, support event organisation, promote initiatives with schools, sustain infrastructure, and support high-potential athletes and coaches.
The contracts were signed between the DRD, represented by Regional Director David João Rodrigues Gomes, and the following clubs:
- Santo da Serra Golf Club via Sports development programme-contract No. 51/2026 (Contract No. 195/2026) - Maximum amount: €22,756.61.
- Funchal Mountain Club via Sports development programme-contract No. 52/2026 (Contract No. 196/2026) - Maximum amount: €67,342.59.
- Funchal Table Tennis Club via Sports development programme-contract No. 53/2026 (Contract No. 197/2026) - Maximum amount: €1,015.62.
- Funchal Tennis Club via Sports development programme-contract No. 54/2026 (Contract No. 198/2026) - Maximum amount: €16,764.24.
- Ciclo-Madeira Sports Club via Sports development programme-contract No. 55/2026 (Contract No. 199/2026) - Maximum amount: €975.74.
- CKF - Funchal Kick-Boxing Club via Sports development programme-contract No. 56/2026 (Contract No. 200/2026) - Maximum amount: €1,098.52.
- CLNSTR - Grupo Basket Atlântico via Sports development programme-contract No. 57/2026 (Contract No. 201/2026) - Maximum amount: €11,644.44.
- Club Sports da Madeira via Sports development programme-contract No. 58/2026 (Contract No. 202/2026) - Maximum amount: €55,529.77.
- Madeira Shooting, Hunting and Fishing Club via Sports development programme-contract No. 59/2026 (Contract No. 203/2026) - Maximum amount: €12,648.24.
- Francisco Franco School Sports Club via Sports development programme-contract No. 61/2026 (Contract No. 204/2026) - Maximum amount: €45,173.67.
The total amounts awarded sum to 235,949.44 euros. Each contract establishes obligations for both parties, including the submission of activity and financial reports by the clubs, and monitoring and oversight by the DRD. The contracts are effective from the date of signature until 31 December 2026.
