Joana Sofia Ferreira Barros has been appointed, on a secondment basis, to the intermediate management position of the Technical Unit for the Business Sector of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The Regional Secretariat for Finance has appointed Joana Sofia Ferreira Barros to a leadership role in the public business sector of the Region. The appointment results from a competitive selection process and has a duration of three years.
By Order No. 346/2026 of the Regional Secretary for Finance, Duarte Nuno Nunes de Freitas, the graduate in Management from the University of Madeira was appointed on a secondment basis to the 1st-level Intermediate Management position of the Technical Unit for the Business Sector of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (UT-SERAM), which is part of the Office of the Regional Secretariat for Finance.
The order takes effect from September 1, 2026. Joana Sofia Ferreira Barros is a member of the Order of Certified Accountants and has extensive professional experience, having served as acting director of services in the same technical unit since December 2025, and previously as a senior technician at Sociedade Metropolitana de Desenvolvimento, S.A. and at several accounting firms.
The expenditure associated with this appointment is covered by the budget of the Regional Secretariat for Finance.
