Government approves flexible structures for land management and archives
Two orders from the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture define the internal organization of the Regional Directorate for Land Management and the Regional Directorate for Archives, Libraries and Books.
The Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture has approved, through two orders, the flexible organic structures of two regional services, finalizing their internal organization.
Regional Directorate for Land Management (DROTe)
Order No. 334/2026 approves the flexible structure of the Regional Directorate for Land Management, which will now comprise eight divisions with specific competences:
- Land Management and Urban Planning Division (DOTU): Ensures the operationalization of the Regional Land Management System, supports municipalities in drafting plans, and issues opinions in the fields of land management and urban planning.
- Territorial Monitoring and Landscape Division (DMTP): A new division created to manage the Regional Territorial Monitoring System, operate the Territory Observatory, and monitor the evolution of the landscape of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
- Cadastre Division (DC): Promotes the identification of properties and ensures the functioning of the Regional Cadastral Information System.
- Geographic Information Division (DIG): Maintains the regional geographic database, manages the iRIG-Madeira Geoportal, and ensures the production of official cartography.
- Planning and Management Division (DPG): Responsible for activity planning, support for funding applications, human resource management, and public procurement procedures.
- Innovation and Development Division (DID): Coordinates the digitalization of processes, develops interoperability solutions, and manages the regional directorate's IT applications.
The order maintains the service commissions of the current division heads and repeals Order No. 549/2024, of December 4.
Regional Directorate for Archives, Libraries and Books (DRABL)
Order No. 335/2026 approves the flexible structure of the Regional Directorate for Archives, Libraries and Books, which will now consist of two divisions:
- Management Support and Human Resources Division (DAGRH): Responsible for general management support, including public procurement, human resources, planning, quality, and archives.
- Information and Communication Technologies Division (DTIC): Ensures the management of technological platforms, information systems, cybersecurity, and IT support, with a focus on digital documentary and bibliographic heritage.
Both structures come into force on the day following their publication.
