Graça Fabiana Alvarez Sousa has been appointed as Head of the Division of Migration, Integration and Migrant Support within the Regional Directorate for Communities.
The Presidency of the Regional Government has appointed Graça Fabiana Alvarez Sousa to lead the newly created Division of Migration, Integration and Migrant Support (DMIAM). The appointment was formalized by Dispatch No. 326/2026 and has a duration of one year, taking effect from August 1, 2026.
Graça Sousa, who holds a degree in Communication, Culture and Organizations from the University of Madeira, has been a Senior Technician at the Regional Directorate for Communities and External Cooperation (DRCCE) since 2020. Previously, she worked at the Center for Madeiran Communities and Migrations. Since November 2025, she has coordinated the Local Center for the Integration of Migrants (CLAIM Madeira).
The position of Head of the Division of Migration, Integration and Migrant Support is a second-tier intermediate management position, created under the new flexible structure of the DRCCE approved by Dispatch No. 312/2026 of July 27. The appointee also holds a Postgraduate Degree in Foreigners and Nationality Law, completed in 2026.
The Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure has approved the new flexible organic structure of the Regional Roads Directorate, defining the responsibilities of seven divisions.
Ordinance No. 537/2026 regulates the allocation of exceptional support of 29,640 euros to eleven firefighter associations and rescue entities in Madeira, to compensate for the increase in fuel prices between April and June 2026.
