Increased Support and Simplified Processes for the Degraded Buildings Recovery Programme

A new ordinance increases the maximum support ceilings for works on degraded housing, updates income brackets, and simplifies procedures for applicants.

The Regional Government has approved the first amendment to the regulations of the Degraded Buildings Recovery Programme (PRID), introducing significant improvements in support for low-income families to rehabilitate their homes. The changes were established by Ordinance No. 352/2026, from the regional secretaries of Finance and Equipment and Infrastructure.

The main change consists of increasing the maximum limits of the financial support granted. For small-scale works, the maximum amount rises to 35,000 euros. For large-scale interventions, necessary after damage caused by bad weather, disasters, calamities, or fires, the ceiling is now 70,000 euros.

The ordinance also proceeds with the update of income brackets that determine eligibility for the programme, reflecting the evolution of economic indicators. Furthermore, it introduces a simplification of procedures to streamline the processing of applications and reduce the documentation required from applicants.

Other relevant changes include:

  • Applications can now be submitted online, at any time, on the website of the managing entity, IHM, EPERAM (from 1 February 2027).
  • The obligation to submit applications within specific periods is revoked.
  • Deadlines for submitting budgets and analysis criteria are adjusted.
  • Applications that are left out due to lack of budgetary allocation can be "recovered" within a 6-month period if there is a reinforcement of funds.

The new regime applies to applications submitted after its entry into force, but can also apply to pending processes if it is more favourable to the applicant. The ordinance entered into force the day after its publication, on 22 July 2026.
