Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development restructures core services

Ordinance no. 246/2026 approves the new core structure of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development (DRA), creating new organic units to optimize support for the sector.

Through Ordinance no. 246/2026, the Regional Government has restructured the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development (DRA), providing it with a more efficient organization adapted to the needs of the Madeiran agricultural sector.

The new core structure of the DRA comprises the following organic units:

  • Planning and Management Services Directorate (DSPG)
  • Rural and Local Development Services Directorate (DSDRL)
  • Agri-food Laboratories Services Directorate (DSLA)
  • Farmer Support Services Directorate (DSAA)
  • Agri-food Markets and Innovation Services Directorate (DSMIA)
  • Direct Aid Services Directorate (DSAD) - New unit created

This reorganization aims to strengthen the regional administration's response capacity in the areas of financial planning, technical support for farmers, laboratory control, and management of community aid, promoting the competitiveness and sustainability of agricultural holdings in the Region.
