600,000 Euro Financial Boost for 'September 4, 1862' Elderly Care Home
The total budget for the construction and equipping of an elderly care home managed by the 'September 4, 1862' Mutual Aid Association has been increased to over 4.2 million euros.
The Regional Government has approved a significant financial boost for the construction of a new residential structure for the elderly in Funchal.
Ordinance No. 387/2026 amends paragraph 1 of Ordinance No. 217-B/2023, increasing the total amount for project 2629 - ASM 4 September 1862 Care Home. The investment, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and contracted with the Mutual Aid Association “September 4, 1862”, sees its total budget rise from 4,598,748.00 € to 4,211,914.40 €.
The project involves the construction and complete outfitting of a Residential Structure for the Elderly (ERPI), which will be implemented on property owned by the Association, which will also ensure its operational management. The infrastructure will include 18 double accommodation units, 4 single units, and 1 triple unit, promoting the use of renewable energy for self-consumption. In total, 44 new places are planned.
The new distribution of budgetary charges, following this increase, is as follows:
- Financial year 2023: 0.00 €
- Financial year 2024: 2,359,665.52 €
- Financial year 2025: 2,004,538.29 €
- Financial year 2026: 847,710.59 €
The increase is justified due to the reprogramming of the project's financial execution.
