Regional Government praises Madeiran athletes for sports achievements
The Madeiran Executive has granted public praise to two regional athletes for their recent successes in national and international competitions.
The Regional Government Council has approved two votes of public praise for Madeiran athletes who have recently stood out in the sports scene:
- Carlota Fernandes Duarte: Praised for winning the bronze medal at the 1st Stage of the 2026 ICF Ocean Racing World Cup, in the ocean racing canoeing specialty (SS1 class, open senior women's category). The praise extends to the coaches, the Clube Naval do Funchal, and the Madeira Regional Canoeing Association (Resolution no. 512/2026).
- Filipa Mafalda Henriques Andrade de Jesus: Praised for winning the National Duathlon Champion title, in the absolute women's category. The praise extends to the Grupo Desportivo Corticeiras and the Madeira Regional Triathlon Association (Resolution no. 514/2026).
