The Regional Directorate for Sport has awarded grants for participation in regional gymnastics for all and fencing competitions. Maximum funding amounts to €432.08 for Associação One - Onde Nasce a Expressão and €631.60 for Associação Desportiva e Recreativa de Ponta Delgada.
The Regional Directorate for Sport has signed two programme contracts to support Madeiran associations taking part in regional competitions during the 2025/2026 sports season, covering the period from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
In both cases, the grant may be reduced if the eligible expenses submitted are below the approved limit. The associations must provide proof of expenditure, sports performance indicators, and documents relating to their tax, social security and financial standing. The contracts take effect from the date of signature and remain in force until 31 December 2026.
Danilo José Moniz Ferreira received a public commendation for winning the bronze medal with the national team at the 2026 Wheelchair Handball World Championship. The coach represents Clube Naval Setubalense.
Ivone de Fátima Silva has been honoured by the Regional Government after winning two bronze medals at international paragliding competitions. The commendation also recognises her club, the Jardim da Serra Cultural and Sports Association.
Fourteen associations and informal youth groups will receive funding through the Social Innovation and Transformation Programme. The total maximum grant is €35,673.65, allocated across 2026 and 2027.
