The Regional Secretariat for Inclusion, Labour and Youth has officially created the commission responsible for organizing Workers' Day activities in Madeira.
Order no. 142/2026, signed by the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, Paula Cristina Baptista Margarido, establishes the creation of the "Commission for the May 1st Celebrations - Workers' Day". The objective is to develop and execute the program of cultural, recreational, and sports activities for this year's celebration in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The commission is composed of eight members:
The commission has autonomy to perform financial acts and must submit a final report of activities and expenses by August 1, 2026.
The Municipality of Ponta do Sol has signed a program contract with ACDRPS to support the association's sports activities during 2026.
The Regional Government of Madeira has authorized the Madeira Social Security Institute to assume multi-year expenses of 12.7 million euros to ensure the continuity of social services at the Bela Vista Establishment.
The Madeira Social Security Institute has signed an agreement with the Santissima Trindade da Tabua Social and Parish Center to ensure the operation of the Santa Teresinha establishment.
